Application of digital solutions at Christeyns
For the digitization of production, it was decided to use the batch application developed by ATS. The batch application consists of a number of standard functionalities that are customized to the customer's needs.
This application is linked to the customer's ERP system. The batch orders, consisting of the bill of materials (BOM) and instructions, are forwarded from the ERP system to the batch application. The data (dosed weights, lab results, instruction responses, etc.) from the completed batch are sent back by the batch application.
To execute a batch, communication with the PLC is required to control dosages, mixers, reaction times, etc. For interaction with the operator, there is an interface to display instructions, confirm manual actions, and enter lab results, among other things.
In order to make the instructions and production progress visible outside the control room, it was decided to install a number of large-screen dashboards in the production area.
